Dominic Monacchio, RA
Dominic is an Arizona native and although he was advised against becoming an architect by his late father (also an architect), he followed that path. Dominic’s education includes undergraduate study in both ASU and U of A architectural programs and he also spent several years working in commercial construction. Dominic has been in the industry since 1988 and has experience in education, office buildings, industrial, retail, hospitality, and residential projects. He has been with EMC2 since 2001 and a Principal with the firm since 2006.
When Dominic is not working, he enjoys sporting events and live music, as well as fishing and boating, driving Arizona’s backroads, and cooking (and eating) all types of food. He supports all Arizona sports teams but has a special place in his heart for the Suns because they’re about his same age. When asked about his favorite building in the state, He appreciates the design of iconic historical buildings like San Xavier, Tovrea Castle, Arcosanti, Taliesin, and regional architects like Bennie Gonzales, as much as modern buildings like ASU’s Biodesign Institute and School of Construction.
